Beautiful accommodation in Ponta do Ouro, Mozambique
Surrounded by a forest, Mar E Sol is an upmarket self-catering holiday beachfront accommodation complex.
It is located behind the main beach above the bay and will offer you the best sea view in Ponta do Ouro. A short walk from the complex and you will be in the heart of Ponta do Ouro where you can eat at one of our beautiful restaurants, buy some beautiful hand-crafted goods and RnR which is Mozambique’s most famous drink.
The town has a couple of bottle stores, fish-shop, bakery, market with fresh produce and bottled water and Ice. Cellular phone reception is available on international roaming.
Please note:
These units are all privately owned. Each unit has a private owner, therefore different rates, units are decorated to each owners taste.
House #11 is situated high at the top of the Dune in the Complex. There is a main walkway from each house that leads down to the beach gate. Elderly and very young kids can find it difficult to walk up and down.
Kitchen:
Kitchen nook to prepare or eat Breakfast at with seating for 8 people, Stove and Oven, Standard fridge/freezer, Kettle Toaster and all general Cutlery and Crockery for 10 people.
The Deck.
With a beautiful partial sea view of the Ponta do Ouro Bay. Also there is a gas braai on the deck, Gas refills are available at reception. Table and chairs on the deck for 8 people.
Lounge:
Lounge has a TV with a DVD player. TV but no DSTV.
Bedrooms
Four air-conditioned bedrooms can sleep 8 people even though there are 10 beds, owners do not allow more than 8 UNLESS 2 of the kids are under 12 to sleep on the top beds of the bunked beds.
Two rooms with each a double bed.
Two bedrooms with each one single bed and a bunked bed in each room .
All linen is supplied.
Bathrooms:
Three bathrooms of which on is ensuite with each a Shower, Toilet and Basin. The house makes use of a septic tank system. Do not flush foreign objects. Do not use ammonia containing detergents (e.g. Handy Andy).“Pro Bac” cleaning chemicals are septic tank friendly and will be supplied.
What to bring with:
– Own drinking water
– Beach Towels
– Bath Towels
No open fires allowed.
The house is serviced once a day. The complex has private secure access to the beach via a main walkway from house to bottom beach gate, with 24 Hour security. An on-site laundry service is available at an additional cost.
Mar E Sol is equipped with a wash bay and enough space should you wish to bring a boat.

Peak Season
- R 605.00 per person per night min 6 people per booking required
- Minimum of 7 nights required over December and January Holidays
Min of 2 people only in Low Season @ R 1 200.00 per night.
TV and NO DSTV – high on dune at the top of the complex – parking for unit also at the top Elderly people might find it difficult to reach the house as the house has a lot of stairs to access the house.

Directions
From the Kosi-Bay border post, follow the tar road till you see the Ponta Do Ouro turn off to your right, follow and go through the Ponta Do Ouro Town. In town drive straight past the market until you reach the campsite, and pass it on your left. Go past Mar E Sol on your left, take first road to the right and then first road to your left and Casa No Monte will be on your right hand side.
Please note:
The complex entrance is reachable with a normal vehicle.
And then parking is at reception and clients will need to walk via walkway to their booked units.
But to reach the top entrance of the complex you will need a 4×4 vehicle or a vehicle with a high differential lock.
Therefore kids and elderly people may find it difficult to walk up and down the walkways.
