Beautiful Self-catering Cabanas in Ponta do Ouro, Mozambique
Coco Cabanas lodge is located centrally in Ponta do Ouro and is within walking distance of all amenities, restaurants, market and Gozo Azul dive and ocean activity centre. There are 14 Cabanas located on the property of which 4 is located on the 1st floor.
The Cabanas have different configurations, 4 units with 1 bedroom containing a double bed and 2 single beds in the living area, 6 ground floor units with 2 rooms, some units with a main room containing a double bed and other 2 single beds and 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds, 4 1st floor units with 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each room.
All bedrooms are air-conditioned and beds covered with mosquito nets, the 4 units with 2 single beds in the living area also comes with air-conditioning in the front area and beds covered with mosquito nets.
Each unit does have its own bathroom with a shower, a kitchenette with cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, 2 plate gas stove and fridge with freezer section.
Each Cabana comes with a braai /grill area in front of each unit where guests can meet up with other guests staying at Coco cabanas and socialise at the outside communal living, dining and communal kitchen area with a bar.
At the back of the property, guests will find a pool and club-house area where guests can splash in the pool and dive-schools can offer their pool training to their clients at the Coco-Cabanas pool.
Clients must please supply the following for their trip:
– Bath and beach towels
– Dishcloths for dishes
– Own Food and Drink
– Personal toiletries
Braai area located to each unit
– Fully stocked bar
– Bed linen supplied, no bath or beach towels supplied
– Communal area with a communal kitchen for group cooking. pool table, bar and Dstv
– Different style dining sets for guests to use in communal area, although each unit have own table with 4 chairs per Cabana
– Laundry facility at extra cost to guest per kg.
– Wood, charcoal or ice can be arranged on request
– Units can be serviced daily, guests to leave keys at reception
– 24 hour security for your boats, Jet ski’s and cars.
– Extra freezer space at reception

WATER:
We recommend that all visitors drink bottled mineral water as all tap water is supplied from a local borehole.
Water is a very precious commodity and a scarce natural resource in this area, so we would encourage you to use it in a responsible manner and to avoid wastage.
SEPTIC TANK:
Please do not throw any foreign objects into the toilet: eg. cigarette butts, tampons, sanitary towels, plastic, etc. Please use the bins provided.
LAUNDRY:
For your convenience, we offer a basic laundry service. All washing is done by hand on the premises by our staff and will be available the next day, weather permitting.
The laundry service does not include ironing. Washing is charged at R50 per bag (up to 2kg) including detergent.
Please plan for washing with reception and not directly with the staff.
SERVICING & CLEANING:
The cabanas are serviced daily. If you do not wish to have your cabana serviced, please inform us at reception.
Our cleaning staff are on duty every day of the week from 8h00 until 17h00, with exception of Sundays and Public holidays, when they work from 8h00 to 12h00.
Servicing of the cabanas includes making up beds, washing floors, washing dishes and stove, emptying dustbins, washing, and cleaning bathrooms and general tidying of the outside area.
Should you need any other assistance, please inquire at reception and we will endeavour to assist you.
FREEZERS:
The freezers that are for communal use are situated at reception. A plastic crate is allocated to each cabana.
BRAAIS:
The communal braai area at the Lapa is a great place to socialize and make new friends, each unit has its own individual braai.
Please note that braaing under the straw veranda might cause a fire, be cautious.
MUSIC:
Please note that no loud music can be played after 22h00
CARS, BOATS & JET SKIS:
A launching permit is required for all boats and jet skis launching from the beach.
These can be obtained from the Marine time Office situated diagonally across the road from the Coco Rico.
Driving on the beach in Mozambique is NOT ALLOWED. This may result in a heavy fine for the offender as well as the resort.
SECURITY:
Although the incidence of crime in this area is far less than in the cities, there is inevitably an element of opportunistic crime, especially during the tourist season.
It is always advisable to take basic security precautions.
AIRCON:
Please make sure that all doors and windows are closed while using air conditioning.

An easy, leisurely walk to the beach (less than 300m), restaurants and village shops will make sure that you do not have to move your car from the safe parking area in front of Coco Cabanas.
